When designing, what superpower would you like to have?

M: The superpower of stopping time.
K: Getting into the mind of the end user.

 

Which of your designs would you choose to survive a zombie attack?

M: The Aloe, without a doubt … a very “live” design.
K: I do not think any of our designs will help me much against a zombie attack!

 

If you could go to dinner with a designer, who would you go with?

M: With my “I” from within 20 years.
K: With one that I like, even if I’m not famous!

 

Would you rather travel to the future or to the past?

M: Without a doubt to the future.
K: To the past … I like to try to understand what has happened so that the present is the way it is, and I like the surprise of not knowing what the future holds.

 

In what influential period of design would you like to have been born?

M: I really like this one where I was born.
K: I love the 60s … I have the feeling that a lot of things happened and it was a magical time for creativity.

 

How would you describe yourself in 3 adjectives?

M: This question is very difficult for me, I still do not know how to describe myself …
K: Creative, sociable and clueless.

 

If you were to write a book, what name would you give it?

M: I would identify it with a color rather than give it a title.
K: It’s not a country for young people

 

If you could learn to do something new, what would you choose?

M: Too many things I would choose because too many things I do not know how to do … a while ago I wanted to learn how to make violins…
K: I would rather learn to do things I already do well, but I do badly, like playing the guitar or surfing.

 

What is the last book you’ve read?

M: “The Order of Time” by Carlo Rovelli.
K: “Maus” from Art Spiegelman

 

What could we find in your trash can?

M: The minimum necessary to discard … or that I try …
K: The truth is that I do not throw or buy much, so most things are food and drink wrappers or leftovers.

 

What is the best memory of your childhood?

M: Well, I have so many … it’s a true luck to live a childhood that still lasts over time.
K:  I find it very difficult to choose one … almost all the memories of my childhood are good, even at school!

 

What is the rarest object in your room?

M: I do not think I have rare objects … but I do have many with great symbolic value for me … A perfect glass prism is one of my favorites.
K: A sculpture of an ostrich made with wire by my wife when she was little.

 

What is your favorite conversation topic?

M: Topics of science in general and the cosmos in particular.
K: I like to talk about topics that excite, excite and make people laugh. Or  topics that I do not know and allow me to learn new things.

 

If you could stay your whole life with the same age, what would it be?

M: I think with the current one …
K: I think I would not like to always stay with the same age … the change is very stimulating!

 

What do you value more in the design of a furniture wheel?

M: That rushes its function without problems, perfectly.
K: Robustness and fineness of operation.

 

What if you had to design an object to put wheels what would it be?

M: A cardboard box with wheels … One of those that is used to make the move or carry books from here to there, I think it would be a very good solution …
K: A toy, for example.
